A Tour Around the Cape
These are some pictures that Gene and I took at the "Parliament of the World's Religions", in Cape Town, South Africa.
A general description of all the pictures follows:
- 1 through 3: First day of the Parliament. Ceremony with the Quilt and AIDS awareness gathering at a park in Cape Town.
- 4: Famous painting of the black Christ at St. Mark church, near the Technikon.
- 5 through 8: Shots from the beautiful UCT (University of Cape Town) campus, where Gene and I stayed during the Parliament.
- 9 through 12: Pictures taken during our daily breakfast at the dining room at UCT campus.
- 13 through 20: Pictures taken of and at the Technikon where most the Parliament sessions took place.
- 17: This is a giant picture of a condom hanging in a tall building in downtown Cape Town. It is AIDS awareness at its highest.
- 19: Naomi and some Japanese friends.
- 21 through 26: Pictures taken at some of the sessions at the Technikon.
- 27 through 32: Pictures taken at the outdoor Amphitheater where some performances took place.
- 33 through 36: Plenary sessions.
